About Præmium

Founded in Australia, Præmium is a specialist portfolio administration provider whose clients range from Financial Advisers, stockbrokers, private banks and accountants, through to some of Australia’s largest financial service providers.

Launched in 2002, its virtual wrap platform V-Wrap, reports on in excess of £10bn worth of assets for over 345 firms¹.

In November 2005, Præmium entered into an agreement with BlackRock Investment Managers (Australia) Ltd to deliver Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) to the Australian market utilising Præmium’s proprietary technology. This innovative product was launched in June 2006 as the Merrill Lynch Customised Portfolio Service and was well received by the market, winning The Rainmaker Marketing Excellence Awards 2006 “Best Innovation of the Year 2006”.

Præmium is adapting the SMA for the UK marketplace acknowledging the unique and complex nature of the local investment and taxation regime. Our objective is, once complete, that this product will support a number of implementation options and will provide the following benefits:

White-label the SMA (as many firms currently do with OEICs)
Will be eligible for distribution by any qualified adviser, like any other retail fund
Eligible for inclusion within tax-wrappers
Provides valuation, tax and performance reporting services for fund manager, adviser and client
Enables access to multiple investment models within a single fund, supporting personalised asset allocation and model portfolio development
Reduced cost of investment in professionally managed funds
Gives real value to the adviser and investor
